The magic of Italian Baroque music continues to be captivating even today: its rich splendour, passionate expression and vibrant vitality make it truly special. The focal point of the concert is the tradition of Italian classical music of the 17th and 18th centuries, in which the recorder and keyboard instruments, including the harpsichord, played a significant role.
The programme offers an insight into the diverse world of contemporary Italian style, which unfolds in free ornamentation, passionate melodies and improvisational elements. Pieces by maestros such as Girolamo Frescobaldi, Marco Uccelini, Arcangelo Corelli and Giuseppe Sammartini will be performed shedding a new light on the virtuosity and emotional richness of Baroque instrumental music.
In addition to gems from the original repertoire of the recorder and harpsichord, the concert will also feature transcriptions, highlighting the international influence of the Italian musical heritage, which also culminated in the flourishing recorder culture of 18th century England.
The uniqueness of the evening lies in the combination of musical authenticity and personal interpretation, complemented by the sensitive performance of recorder player Bálint Kovács, and harpsichordist, Dóra Pétery. The magic of Italian Baroque music is brought back to life to convey its timeless and still relevant emotional content to the audience.
