All his life, he tried to express how much love and joy of life he had in him, despite all the tragedies of his fate. His Violin Concerto is one of the finest examples of this. The Symphony Pathétique is Tchaikovsky's last work. If we listen hard enough, we can "read" the heartbreaking suicide note of a man who is just about to die. We'll hear two profound confessions this evening.
