Festive Gala Concert
Franz Liszt: Hungarian Fantasy
Franz Liszt: Tasso – Symphonic Poem
Hector Berlioz: Rákóczi March
Can music simultaneously reflect both the Hungarian and international characters of the Hungarian Revolution and the War of Independence of 1848 and also the fact that the desire for freedom swept across not only Hungary but also almost the whole continent?
In addition to Hungarian-themed works by Hungarian composers, a unique Liszt composition will also be performed at the Pannon Philharmonic's gala concert this year, presenting the lament and triumph of the Italian poet Tasso. Also Berlioz's Rákoczi March reflects how widely supported the cause of Hungarian freedom abroad was. A young pianist from Pécs is playing with the Pannon Philharmonic, who showcased his talent already as a child with the orchestra in the Masters and Their Pupils Series. He will now return as a mature artist and the soloist of Liszt's Hungarian Fantasy.
The programme is supported by the Jegymester.
