You’ll Love It
Max Bruch: Double Concerto for Violin and Viola in E minor, Op. 88
Edvard Grieg: Piano Concerto in A Minor
Edvard Grieg: Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 – excerpts
Romantic, melodious, emotional, passionate, imaginative, and virtuoso—these are the qualities that await the audience this October night.
The German Romantic composer Max Bruch’s presence is a true rarity in concert programmes, except for his Violin Concerto in G minor, as this is, by and large, his only frequently played piece. At this concert, however, we can hear a symphony movement and a double concerto of his, where the conductor features as the violin soloist and a violist of the Pannon Philharmonic will play the viola solo. Grieg’s music carries all of us away, no matter whether we are classic music fans or not. Both his Piano Concerto in A minor and Peer Gynt are works written in the universal language of music and are, therefore, generally accessible and loveable.
