Play and Serenity
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Piano Concerto in C major (K. 467)
Dejan Lazić: S.C.H.E.rzo for Orchestra and Piano
Johannes Brahms: Symphony No. 2 in D major
Even Brahms is cheerful this evening! Mozart comes with his usual serenity and playfulness, while Lazić himself plays his piano concerto, which in itself could be seen as a jest.
Brahms is often criticised for his gloom, but a friend wrote the following words about his Symphony No. 2: "It is all rippling streams, blue sky, sunshine and cool green shadows." Mozart's sense of humour and joy of life still makes millions of people happier daily. The fact that this humour meets an extraordinary sense of drama and character makes his music particularly loveable. We invite you to a colourful and thrilling evening in May with two vibrating Mozart works, one with a Scherzo surprising many and the already mentioned Brahms symphony.
