Zsolt Haja – János Háry
An exclusive festive puppet performance with opera singers, a choir and a symphony orchestra in the Kodály Year. The large-scale joint production of the 60-year-old Bóbita Puppet Theatre and the 210-year-old Pannon Philharmonic will feature in the Kodály Centre no more than three times. You are and your family are warmly welcome in our audience!
Háry János’s spectacular tales are known all over the world. The veteran hussar, who drifted far from his home village, turned into a legend, and as we know, a traveller may lie with authority. From today’s perspective, it seems that regardless of the era, we need boastful, far-fetched heroic deeds and a reality woven with the threads of imagination…
"AS OPPOSED TO AN OPERATIC ARRANGEMENT, A PUPPET THEATRE PERFORMANCE MUST WORK WITH DIFFERENT TOOLS, AS THERE ARE NO SOLO SINGERS TO ADMIRE OR A LARGE-APPARATUS DANCE ENSEMBLE TO STAGE. FOR THIS REASON, WE NEED TO FORMULATE IT ALL BY "PAINTING" THE MUSIC. WHILE DESIGNING THE IMAGES, IT IS CRUCIAL TO CONVEY THE SPAWNING DEVELOPMENT OF THE STORYLINE AND THE "UNHEARD" GRANDIOSITY OF THE CONTINUOUSLY EXPANDING PLOT." (DÁNIEL HALASI - DIRECTOR)
