Aftertone with Ádám Bősze
Johann Sebastian Bach: Extracts from suites for orchestra
Joseph Haydn: Symphony in G Major, Hob.I:88 – Movement 3: Minuet
Ottorino Respighi: Old Songs and Dances – extracts
We are often apt to think that folk music and compositions only began a dialogue with each other this past century, or that dance music without dance has only been composed in the modern era. But if we take a closer look, multi-toned compositions are the same age as the dances themselves, and their characters, or the social groups that the music depicts. Even genres that are clearly meant for the auditorium, like the symphony, are almost obliged to include a dance movement. In this recital, the orchestra will dance clothed in Renaissance and Baroque sounds, or more specifically, in the memories thereof. In fact to be absolutely precise, they will be wearing the sounds of the composers’ memories.
‘Aftertone,’ begins at 19:00 with the second half of the #NoBabel concert program. After the concert, adults can enjoy Ádám Bősze’s humour and lively commentary accompanying the musical experience.
