Aftertone with Ádám Bősze
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker - excerpts
Léo Delibes: Sylvia - excerpts
Even in classical music or for those well-versed in partner dances, ballet is a bit of an unknown, foreign world. When watching ballet dancers, even those musicians used to consistent work often feel like some sort of grounded, undisciplined crowd, sitting comfortably while they practice their art. In contrast, ballet dancers are in a constant battle with gravity, the strength and stamina of their own bodies, space and symmetry. They wage war with such impressive ease and momentum that it would seem they were completely weightless, and their muscles and ligaments never tired for even a millisecond. This evening features music by composers from the two ballet superpowers, Russia and France. We will evoke the world of ballet, the empire that is tightly bound to space, time and body, yet far outreaches any of their limits.
‘Aftertone,’ begins at 19:00 with the second half of the #NoBabel concert program. After the concert, adults can enjoy Ádám Bősze’s humour and lively commentary accompanying the musical experience.
